Cafe Supervisor

I’ve been part of Lily & Lime for 7 years, working as a Café Supervisor and Support Worker at The View Café in the Civic Offices. I enjoy my role because every day is different, and the people we support each bring something unique. Working alongside them makes each day enjoyable and rewarding. My go-to order is a hazelnut latte with a Brie and chilli jam panini. Looking ahead, I’m always open to trying new roles and taking on new adventures, but I’m very happy being part of the Trust for now.

Volunteer

My favourite drink is a cup of tea and the toasties are very tasty. I like being in the kitchen with the service users making all the cakes. I just love being here, all the staff are lovely and I love supporting the people who come here. It boosts my morale.

I have been at Lily & Lime for 7 and a half years.

What have you learned while working here?

I have learned lots of things since being here. I have learned lots of skills.

I like eating the jacket potatoes with cheese.

What are you excited to learn about next?

I’m excited to start baking, especially the Victoria Sponge.

What have you learned while working here?

Making drinks, food preparation and how to be organised and tidy. I completed my apprenticeship, and I am now a paid member of the team.

Just the drinks.

What are you excited to learn about next?

I just continue to strengthen my knowledge of the cafe.

What have you learned while working here?

How to make coffees, team work, how to use a dishwasher, till work. Improved my skills with cooking and baking.

 What’s your favourite item on the menu?

My favourite thing to eat is the jacket potato with beans as it is the vegan option.

What are you excited to learn about next?

There is nothing in particular that I would like to learn I just want to improve my skills.

What have you learned while working here?

I completed my apprenticeship. I have also leaned how to communicate better and work better in a team. I can also make all the drinks and do food prep. I am now a paid member of the team.

 What’s your favourite item on the menu?

I like making a mocha. My favourite cake is the biscoff cake.

What are you excited to learn about next?

I would like to learn how to make the soups and other hot food like chilli.

What have you learned while working here?

I have learned that I can do more things than I expected. I can deal with more responsibility if it is given to me gradually. I completed my apprenticeship and am now a paid member of the team.

My favourite cupcake is the Ferrero Roche which we make at Christmas.

What are you excited to learn about next?

I would like to learn sign language and Makaton.

How to take things out to customers. I have learned how to make tea and americano.

My favourite thing to eat here is a ham and cheese toastie on white bread.

Service & Hospitality Manager

I’ve been part of Lily & Lime since 2018 and have worked with Minstead Trust since 2021. I oversee both Lily & Lime venues in Portsmouth: The Central Library café and The View in the Civic Offices. I love working in this environment because I get to see the people we support learning, developing and working in a real workplace. They’re always teaching me something new too. My favourite thing to eat in the café is a bacon and cheese turnover, usually with a good cup of tea. Looking ahead, I’d love to open more venues, support more people and help them develop their skills.
